Treating hair loss is far from simple. Our founder Adam has consulted with more than 35,000 people in his hair growth career and there isn’t much he doesn’t know about hair. The fact is hair loss is caused by so many factors and each person’s case is unique as factors such as hormones, diet, age, genetics, and life events can affect your locks.
No matter your hair health there are small things you can do to ensure you are growing your thickest and healthiest hair possible – drinking lots of water, eating whole foods, lots of sleep, regular exercise and products that stimulate hair growth such as Regrow’s Hair Care range.
But before we tell you what’s so great about our products, let’s uncover some hair loss facts and fictions.

SCALP MASSAGE ENCOURAGES HAIR GROWTH
PARTLY TRUE
Increasing scalp circulation can definitely encourage hair growth, however if the follicle is damaged or dead it cannot be regenerated. Growing hair needs healthy circulation, once hair loss occurs circulation does decrease – however decreased hair loss is due to hair loss, not the other way around. Scalp massage, or derma rolling, stimulates the hair follicles to product thicker hair, as well as helping hair to grow efficiently.

WEIGHT LOSS CAUSES HAIR LOSS
TRUE
Hair loss caused by weight loss is temporary and known as telogen effluvium. When caused by hair loss telogen effluvium is most likely due to nutrient deficiencies or stress due to restrictive dieting. Telogen effluvium can happen to anyone and is triggered when the body goes through a stressful event such as illness, having a baby, emotional stress, menopause, surgery, and even some medications.

YOUR MOTHER’S SIDE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HAIR LOSS
FALSE
Your mother’s side of the family have long taken the blame for genetic hair loss, but recent studies have discovered that both sides of your genetics can contribute to male pattern baldness. One study also found that 63 genes may play a part in causing in male pattern baldness, but only six of them found on the X (female) chromosome. Another study also found that more than 80 per cent of men with male pattern baldness had a father who also lost their hair!

HIGH TESTOSTERONE CAUSES HAIR LOSS
PARTLY FALSE
This is one of the most common hair loss myths! Many studies have debunked this one, however there is a hormone that causes hair loss – DHT. Our hair care products are packed full of ingredients and botanicals that block DHT and stop your hair from falling out and keeping your follicles active and happy. Some people are more or less sensitive to DHT which is why hair loss and hair loss reversal are so unique to each person. The reason we have marked this myth as party false is because if you carry the gene for male pattern baldness, high testosterone will quicken your hair loss – but it is not the cause!

HAIR LOSS IS PERMANENT
PARTLY FALSE
There are forms of hair loss which do not respond to treatment, and other which require simple steps to reverse. Hair loss such as telogen effluvium is temporary and corrects itself within 3 to 6 months, and early stages of male pattern baldness is also reversible.
There are multiple forms of alopecia, some of which have treatments available. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition that makes your hair fall out in patches, and currently has no cure but can be treated with differing levels of success. Alopecia universalis affects all the hair on the body and hair often grows back, however the extent and duration of this condition is different for everyone.
