Be in the know
This is where things get interesting folks! Looking at a list of ingredients on the back of a product can be confusing, frustrating, daunting and sometimes a bit scary – “You put what in my shampoo?!”
The very last thing Regrow wants is for you to be scratching your follically-challenged head, so we are going full transparency, you’re a smart person and you have a right to be fully informed.
Every ingredient included and every ingredient that didn’t make the grade is explained below – no surprises.
Our natural ingredients
Oxygenated Rain Water
Did you know regular tap water contains various elements that have been known to cause skin irritation? For Regrow, tap water just wasn’t going to cut it! Instead we mix our product using rain water that has been filtered through an Oxygenated Ozone Treatment System – oh my! You can be confident that the water Regrow uses has nothing added and nothing taken away.
Caffeine Extract
Caffeine doesn’t just perk you up in the morning, it can get your hair buzzing too. Another known DHT blocker that has been proven to stop DHT right in its tracks. Also, a cool little study was published in the ‘International Journal of Dermatology’ in 2007 found that the presence of caffeine stimulated laboratory-cultured hair follicles, increasing hair growth. We definitely didn’t want to leave that out.
Biotin – Vitamin B7
Although most research has been conducted on women, Biotin has been shown to significantly increase hair growth. Biotin is usually used as a 10% dilution in demineralised water and Glycerin. But because Regrow knows what a little wonder Biotin is we use 98% active pure Biotin powder in combination with our oxygenated mineral water. Yowser!
Menthol
Menthol can be found in the herbs peppermint, eucalyptus and pennyroyal. Applied topically, Menthol can help to relieve itching and inflammation and is amazing for circulation. Not to mention it gives a lovely cooling sensation when applied to skin – refreshing!
Hostapon SG
This is our key surfactant/cleanser. This surfactant (good cleaner) is a mild and gentle amino acid based anionic surfactant. It is based on glycine and coconut oil and provides a rich, creamy foam that makes for a wonderful skin feel. Plus it has an excellent rinse ability, especially in hard water areas which can help save water when showering. Not just good for you, but for the environment too!
Australian Horsetail Extract
Not the “neigh-neigh” sort. This horsetail is from a plant and contains the mineral silica. Silica helps to strengthen your blood vessels and improve circulation, which can stimulate the blood flow to your scalp and encourage growth. It is also a necessary component of your skin’s connective tissues and helps to strengthen your bones, nails and hair. Strong like a horse!
Chilli
Chilli Extract combines two potent active compounds that together make a super strong candidate for powerful natural hair care solutions promoting UV damage protection, cell structure and conditioning. Hot stuff.
Australian Nettle Extract
This amazing herb does many things, but when it comes to hair it is a remedy for oily hair, dandruff and hair shaft breakage. It stimulates the scalp, improves circulation and helps to promote fuller, more radiant hair. I think the question here is, why doesn’t every shampoo have this?
Saw Palmetto
Saw Palmetto is a scientifically proven DHT* inhibitor hero and we whack 25% active extract in powder form to really combat that DHT.
Betaine
This is the one that will make your hair super shiny and feeling a million bucks. Plus it strengthens your hair and protects it against heat damage.
Panthenol – Vitamin B5

Niacinamide – Vitamin B3
This delightful little character helps improve the health of hair follicles. It also increases hair growth rate, hair thickness in general, and relaxes and repairs nerves.
Green Tea Extract

The health benefits of green tea are continuously being uncovered. It has been shown to work as an anti-inflammatory agent and helps to circulate blood to the scalp. Extra blood circulation means happy, healthy follicles being feed with extra nutrition.
Gingko Biloba
A fun fact about the Gingko Biloba tree nicknamed ‘the living fossil’, is that it has been around for 350 million years. Revered by Buddhist monks, this graceful tree is commonly found near monasteries and is often tended to by the monks for centuries.
The main compound in the tree, ginkgolide, assists with hair growth by improving blood circulation to the scalp. Also containing amine which is highly active in damaged hair renewal. It has high conditioning properties that give the hair shine and lustre.
Australian Rosemary
Rosemary isn’t just awesome on roast potatoes. Rosemary is a rich source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which are thought to help boost the immune system and improve blood circulation. Good blood circulation means improved health of the hair follicle. Used for centuries to help with dandruff, itchy scalp and prevention of grey hair. Poor Adam found this last bit out too late but like he says, he’d rather be grey than bald.
White Cypress
An Australian Native species traditionally used by the local Indigenous people for medicine, resin, and wooden oars. By using eco-sustainable practices and cellular extraction processes, we are now able to capture the full plant profile of phyto-compounds natural molecules rapidly under high pressure, and thereby maintaining their integrity.
Fantastic for use as a topical hair growth agent and is showing potential for reversing the effects of hair loss. This lovely unknown Australian native contains potent antioxidants and is great at repairing damaged hair. The lignin in the extract is a natural substance that binds cells allowing movement; creates structure, flexibility and tone to the hair. It stimulates growth and proffers suppleness. Yes please!
Acai
You may know acai as a superfood, but did you know that it can also help promote hair growth?Acai berries contain antioxidants that can help reduce oxidative stress on the scalp, which can promote healthier hair growth. They also have high levels of vitamin C, which helps support collagen production in the hair follicles, leading to stronger, healthier hair.

Sunflower oil is rich in vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that helps protect hair follicles from damage. It also contains fatty acids that can help nourish the scalp and stimulate hair growth.

Kakadu Plum
Deep from the heartlands of Australia thrives the Kakadu Plum, an indigenous treasure renowned for its potent properties. This unique fruit is a reservoir of Vitamin C, boasting higher concentrations than many citrus fruits. In the realm of hair care, Kakadu Plum’s rich antioxidants combat oxidative stress on the scalp, fortifying hair roots and promoting growth. It also lends a deeply hydrating touch, rejuvenating the scalp and restoring its natural balance. Infused with native wisdom, the Australian Kakadu Plum is more than just a fruit; it’s a symbol of nature’s ability to nourish and heal.
The ones that got the chop
NO PARABENS OR SULFATES
Linked to really scary long term health damages! It is even said to increase hair fall out – so it really goes against what we stand for!
NO METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE PRESERVATIVES
This has been used in a lot of hair regrowth products in the past. It works, but it can also cause itchy, dry scalps. There is no point having lovely hair if your scalp feels like it is on fire!
NO COCOMIDE DEA OR MEA THICKENERS
These are widely used to thicken, keep ingredients blended, and boost foaming properties. Which sounds great for a lovely looking product, but they are also known to cause skin, eye and respiratory irritations. Umm… no thanks.
NO ADDED SYNTHETIC COLOURS
Nasty, non-natural chemicals that make the product a pretty colour. Why?! I’m sure you would agree that keeping it natural is far more important than having a pretty colour.
SILICONE FREE
Silicone has been a quick cheat for hair care products for years. It makes your hair appear healthy and shiny, but in truth all it does is coat your hair with silicone without actually improving the quality of your hair at all. Why fake it when you can just do the job properly with superior ingredients!
